Longwood / Nutt's Folly - Natchez MS Real Haunted Place

  • 140 Lower Woodville Road
  • Natchez, MS
Longwood, also known as Nutt's Folly, is a historic mansion shaped as an octagon. The antebellum style home is located at 140 Lower Woodville Road in Natchez and was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in December of 1969. The unique mansion was also listed as a National Historic Landmark that same year and later a Mississippi Landmark in 1994. Longwood is the largest octagonal house in the United States... and it's said to be pretty haunted.

So, who is said to the haunt Longwood? Haller and Julia Nutt and their children! The Nutt family occupied the home until 1970 and their spirits are rumored to have never left. Julia's ghost has been seen on the staircase, while her husband has been spotted in the garden area.
